Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hosted a delegation of members from the Palestinian terror group Hamas on Monday in Tehran. The Hamas delegation also attended the swearing-in ceremony of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, who was re-elected in May of this year, the day before the official meeting with Zarif. During the meeting, the Iranian foreign minister reportedly stated that Tehran’s support for the Palestinian terror organization is “principled and unchangeable.” “The visit has opened a new page in our bilateral relations with Iran aimed at confronting the common enemy (Israel) and supporting Palestine, the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the resistance…

Amid a wide security crackdown, Israeli security forces late last week arrested 15 Palestinians suspected of playing key roles in violent Muslim riots over Israel’s now-removed metal detectors at Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. Israeli security forces initiated the raids overnight in eastern Jerusalem. The suspects were detained for questioning and will have their detention extended after being brought before a court. During the mid-July riots, hundreds of Palestinians threw stones, glass bottles and firebombs at security forces. The violence peaked July 27 when Palestinians returned to worshipping on the Temple Mount, following a boycott over Israeli security measures enacted in the aftermath…

The recent clashes in and around the Temple Mount were fueled, in part, by the Iranian government, Palestinian sources told Israel Hayom this week. The clashes erupted after Israeli authorities installed metal detectors at entry points to the site in response to a deadly terrorist attack on July 14. Muslims viewed the Israeli security measure as a bid to usurp control. Israel insisted the measure was meant only to prevent further attacks, and removed the devices less than two weeks later. According to the Palestinian sources, tens of thousands of Muslim protesters received prepackaged meals along with notes in each…

A Palestinian terrorist who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers at the Gush Etzion Junction in Samaria was shot dead on Friday. “The Palestinian arrived at the scene armed with a knife and ran toward IDF soldiers,” the IDF said in a statement. The assailant was shot and killed. No injuries to IDF forces were reported. Meanwhile, after Palestinian riots on Thursday ended with over 100 people injured, Friday’s Muslim prayers on the Temple Mount ended peacefully. However, clashes between Palestinian protestors and Israeli security forces continued near Bethlehem. In Jordan, hundreds also took to the streets to protest Israel, calling…

Israel decided to remove the metal detectors at the Temple Mount, which had been installed following the recent terror attack that killed two Israeli policemen near the holy site, in favor of “security measures based on advanced technologies.” After Palestinian-incited riots and terror attacks that came in response to Israel’s Temple Mount security measures, the Israeli security cabinet announced it accepted a recommendation by security agencies to incorporate “smart checks” and other security measures instead of metal detectors “in order to ensure the security of visitors and worshippers in the Old City and on the Temple Mount.” “Until the implementation…

Minister of Education and Diaspora Affairs Naftali Bennett, chairman of the Jewish Home party, has called on the IDF’s prosecution to demand the death penalty for Omar al-Abed, the Palestinian terrorist who butchered three family members in their home on Friday night. Minister of Defense Avigdor Liberman concurred with Bennett’s call to have al-Abed executed. “The option of the death penalty exists in military courts. There is no need for special legislation; only a request for it in court. I call on the military prosecution to demand the death penalty for the terrorist who murdered the Salomon family,” Bennett stated…

Legislation to put a seemingly insurmountable obstacle before any Israeli leader seeking to divide Jerusalem in diplomatic negotiations can move forward after the Ministerial Committee for Legislation approved it on Sunday. The amendment to Basic Law: Jerusalem pushed by Bayit Yehudi leader Naftali Bennett states that giving up Israeli sovereignty over any part of Jerusalem would require approval by 80 MKs, two-thirds of the Knesset. A growing majority of Israelis no longer sees the presence of Jews or the Israeli military in the so-called “West Bank” as an occupation. Many do see it as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy which wasn’t what the researchers behind a recent survey hoped to find. Under the banner “Save Israel. Stop the Occupation,” Tel Aviv University professors Dr. Nimrod Rosler and Daniel Bar-Tal set out to reveal what most Israelis think about the biblical heartlands of Judea and Samaria and the Jewish settlements there. According to the survey, as reported by Israel National News, a mere 30 percent of Israelis…

The United Nations cultural body UNESCO Friday passed a resolution declaring Hebron’s Cave of the Patriarchs as an endangered Palestinian heritage site, in the latest example of what legal experts are calling “narrative warfare” against Israel and Jews. As part of an ongoing Palestinian-engineered diplomatic campaign, an “emergency resolution” UNESCO presented to its World Heritage Committee claimed Israel is causing “irreversible negative effect on the integrity, authenticity, and/or the distinctive character of the property,” which the resolution refers to not as the Cave of the Patriarchs, but as the Ibrahimi Mosque. The site is where the Jewish patriarchs and matriarchs…
