Former Israeli hostage, Maya Regev, was finally discharged from hospital after a long and complex medical recovery. Regev was brutally kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from the Nova Music Festival on Oct. 7.
Hamas terrorists killed 364 Israelis and foreign nationals at the festival. Regev was seriously wounded by Hamas fire and spent over 50 difficult days in captivity in Gaza.
During her captivity, surgeons in Gaza wrongly reattached her wounded foot at an unnatural angle. In November, Regev was released as part of an indirect hostage agreement. However, following her return to Israel, Regev’s serious injuries required prolonged specialized hospital rehabilitation.
Regev urgently underwent a complicated, corrective surgery at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheva. Following the surgery, she needed to wear a brace on her leg for several months. At the time, Dr. Tzach Slutsky, the deputy director of the medical center, expressed optimism about Maya Regev’s medical recovery.
