The Hebrew word for HOPE is tikvah – and that is what 750,000 poverty-stricken children in Israel need most. In homes where both parents work long hours to barely scrape together enough money to survive, children face a life where the odds are stacked against them. Without enough to eat, they go to school too hungry to concentrate. Their grades suffer, and no one at home has the time or energy to help them study. Every day spent repeating the cycle drains away more of their HOPE.
BUT THERE IS A SOLUTION!
At Viewpoint Israel, we know that Israel’s future depends on the healthy development of her youth. That is why we help provide the resources these children need to succeed through after-school programs across Israel. In these volunteer-led youth clubs, children receive tutoring from professional teachers. Individualized programs cater to the unique needs of each child. Five days a week, the children in these clubs are fed a hot meal and provided with a safe place to escape the worries of home life.
