Rockets from Syria fell in the Galilee region last Thursday, and Israel responded to the intentional attack with a deadly strike against the Iranian-led Islamic Jihad terrorist cell that launched it. The exchange of fire threatens to rupture a 42-year cease-fire between Syria and Israel and ignite full-blown war. Since the beginning of the Syrian civil war in 2011, fighting between the Assad regime’s forces and Syrian rebels has occasionally spilled over into Israeli territory. Errant sniper fire and missiles have hit Israel before, but usually these incidents are not intentional. However, the four rockets launched into Israel on Thursday…

In the first two weeks of August, several “lone wolf” terrorist attacks across Israel have injured ten innocent people. The frequency of the attacks has alarmed many people, but security forces are on constant alert. Because of their diligence, no fatalities of innocent Israelis have occurred as a result of these attacks. Two separate stabbing attacks took place on Saturday. The first took place at a checkpoint in the West Bank, where a Palestinian man approached an IDF soldier to ask for water and then stabbed him when he turned to get the water. The attacker was subdued and taken…
While the world’s attention was focused elsewhere, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei quietly published a book that leaves no doubt he is committed to Israel’s destruction. What is surprising, however, is his strategy. In the 416-page volume, currently only available in Iran and secretly smuggled to the United States, Khamenei outlines his sinister plan to kill Israel slowly with decades of low-intensity warfare. By funding and arming multiple terrorist organizations such as Hamas and Hezbollah, Iran intends to make life in Israel so unbearable and expensive that most of the country’s Jews choose to flee. Khamenei assumes a majority of…
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has made it his personal mission to persuade the American Congress to reject President Obama’s Iran Deal. In pursuit of this goal, Netanyahu spoke directly to the leaders of the Jewish Federations of North America about his reasons for believing it is a bad deal. Netanyahu outlined specific concerns regarding the deal, saying that it not only doesn’t stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons but actually “paves Iran’s path to the bomb.” Netanyahu urged American Jews to take a stand against the Iran Deal before it is too late. “What we do now will affect…
Leon Wieseltier, established voice of Jewish American liberal intellectualism, published a blistering analysis of what he sees as President Obama’s naïve and arrogant foreign policy that produced the Iran Deal. Pointing out President Obama’s oft-stated desire to avoid the “rut of history,” Wieseltier argues that Obama’s whole foreign policy, but especially in regard to Iran, ignores established historical realities in favor of hope-centric experiments. The rut of history: It is a phrase worth pondering. It expresses a deep scorn for the past, a zeal for newness and rupture, an arrogance about old struggles and old accomplishments, a hastiness with inherited…
If there’s one thing Republicans running for president agree on wholeheartedly, it’s that President Obama and John Kerry’s deal with Iran is a huge mistake. Every single one of them understands the basic truth that the current US Administration can’t seem to grasp: Iran’s leaders can’t be trusted. The candidates didn’t mince words in their responses to last week’s announcement. Rick Perry, Former Governor of Texas: “President Obama’s decision to sign a nuclear deal with Iran is one of the most destructive foreign policy decisions in my lifetime. For decades to come, the world will have to deal with the…
At the same time President Obama inked a deal with Iran over its nuclear weapons program, thousands of passionately pro-Israel Christians from across the United States gathered in Washington, DC for the tenth annual Christians United For Israel (CUFI) summit. Lead by fiery San Antonio-based pastor, John Hagee, and Executive Director David Brog, CUFI brought 5,000 Christians together to hear from experts on Israel, Iran, and Middle Eastern affairs. The event included a Candidates Forum, featuring interviews conducted by legendary journalist Bret Stephens with all of the Republican presidential contenders to date. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed the conference via…
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu harshly criticized the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) after the council released a report on last summer’s Operation Protective Edge in Gaza. The report condemned Israel for war crimes targeting civilians and children, while completely ignoring Hamas’ role in endangering their own citizens and deliberately targeting Israel civilians. Netanyahu pointed out the hypocrisy of the UNHRC by drawing attention to the fact that since the council was formed, it has condemned Israel more times than all the other countries of the world combined. Watch Netanyahu’s statement below.
As the US continues negotiations with Iran and seeks to ease Israeli concerns over their security, the State Department and Pentagon quietly approved a massive arms sale to Israel this week. The deal, worth $1.87 billion, provides Israel with thousands of missiles and laser-guided bunker-busting bombs for the Israeli Air Force. Congress is expected to approve the sale without difficulty within the next two weeks. In an official statement, the Pentagon said, “The United States is committed to the security of Israel, and it is vital to US national interests to assist Israel to develop and maintain a strong and…
Twenty-nine suspected Hamas operatives were arrested in an overnight raid in the West Bank on Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed. The surprise operation was carried out jointly between the IDF, Border Police, Shin Bet security agency and the Israel Police. Those arrested, some of whom are senior Hamas officials who have served sentences in Israeli prisons in the past, were taken to Shin Bet facilities for investigation. The arrests were made following suspicions of Hamas-funded and directed plans to carry out terror attacks against Israel. Palestinian security officials said Wednesday the suspects were nabbed in and near the city…
